Corporate Health Services for Northland

AIM is a mobile service with clinicians located throughout the Northland region, including Whangarei, Kaipara, Wellsford and the mid to far North. With a consistent quality of service and extensive local knowledge and connections, AIM has been providing tailor-made wellness programmes and corporate health services in Northland since 2005.

As the Health and Safety responsibilities for a business or those experiencing an injury or illness can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate, we offer a range of Health & Safety training programmes and practical workshops as well as injury and illness prevention and rehabilitation services for people to take control and enhance their health and wellbeing.

To deliver the best possible service to our clients, we have a highly qualified and experienced team that covers all aspects of workplace wellbeing and corporate health and safety services. Each team member is an expert in their field and affiliated to their respective registered body.

Keeping our clients front of mind, we combine our strengths to facilitate better decisions and outcomes. We’re proud to partner with ACC and work with a range of private insurance companies, businesses and individuals in Northland to support people get back on track following injury or illness.

Debbie Glendinning

Director, Occupational Therapist, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Specialist

I bring over 3 decades of experience in mental health rehabilitation and head injuries. Since co-founding AIM in 2005 I have specialised in workplace assessments, vocational rehabilitation, wellness, and injury prevention. 

As a key clinician, I lead interdisciplinary teams,
collaborating with ACC-funded services, Third Party Insurers, and private companies.

As a seasoned trainer and mentor, I am passionate about facilitating positive outcomes in well-being and rehabilitation for every client.

Debbie Rafferty

I am not going to tell you how many years I has been delivering injury
management, injury prevention and wellness services but I will tell you that I still have a great passion for this, helping individuals and companies be safe, well and thrive. 

Co-leading a team of like-minded individuals and ensuring an

Aneuri Brook

Occupational Therapist

I am a dedicated OT with 20 years’ experience. I am committed to providing compassionate, personalised, and individualised care plans for my clients. I have worked with AIM for 6 years gaining a huge amount of experience and expertise providing vocational services, needs assessments, housing modification assessments and individual rehabilitation programmes.

I am committed to delivering excellence and creating positive, lasting impacts in every aspect of my work.  I am passionate about client centred, holistic practice.

Karen Matson

I have worked with AIM for 8 years, and my clinical area of expertise is in driving and transport assessments. 

I enjoy working with clients to help them achieve their social rehabilitation needs.

Kia ora koutou. I hail from Ngati-Hine in the mid north.
I have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years and have a passion for improving the health status of Maori across the board. 

I currently provide Nursing input with TI (training for Independence) programs, SDA’s (single discipline assessments) and Concussion programs.

Alex Brandes

MSK, Health and Performance Physiotherapist

Born in South Africa, I grew up in the UK. I moved to NZ in 2015 and haven’t looked back. Over the past nine years I have strategically embraced specific areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

I’ve provided autonomous practice in primary care, general practice, orthopaedic,
sports and private MSK physiotherapy. 

I have developed a skill set that enables me to provide concise assessment, diagnosis, intervention and performance
rehabilitation pathways for all.

I completed my degree in Southampton, U.K in 2008. With extensive expertise across various physiotherapy domains, including musculoskeletal, neurology, and oncology, My passion lies in musculoskeletal rehab for injury prevention and pain management. Since joining AIM in 2014, I have worked and excelled in vocational programs, training for independence, and pain management

Sarah Kennedy

Physiotherapist

I graduated from Kings College London University in 1999 and have gained experience in a wide range of hospital and community settings in both the UK and New Zealand. 

I combine my interest in neurological and musculoskeletal knowledge to provide holistic assessments and treatment programs for a variety of conditions. 

I have been running my own clinic in Kerikeri since 2013, where I focus on providing effective treatment to prevent recurrent injury. I also specialise in rehabilitation from concussion and head injury.

Michelle Silvester

Physiotherapist

I’m an experienced Physio practitioner with a background in running practices in the UK and NZ. For two decades I managed a Rehab Pilates studio, and recently expanded my expertise by completing the Pinc and Steel training, so I can provide specialised rehab for male patients navigating through cancer.

My passion is in educating individuals about the incredible human body and the impacts of illness, disease, trauma, or injury emphasising the importance of understanding the changes that have led to this and prevent recurrence. 

I focus on personalised treatment and encouragement for a return to the best possible functional lifestyle.

Ryan Maraki

Exercise Physiologist, Rehab Coach

I am a Sport and Exercise Science graduate with over 20 years of experience. Originally from Okaihau, I own Gritzone Exercise Specialists in Whangārei, working with a diverse range of clients from youth and high-performance athletes to general fitness and rehabilitation clients.

Specialising in injury prevention and rehabilitation, I have a personal connection to my work, having recovered from both knee (ACL) and shoulder reconstructions.

My extensive experience in exercise prescription allows me to create personalised and effective rehabilitation plans, promoting successful outcomes and enhancing overall oranga/well-being.

I have 20 plus years of experience in the field of psychology and will provide personalised guidance and support.

I have extensive experience in the health and disability sector having worked as a community and residential support worker. In 2020 I completed my internship at Alzheimer’s Northland and qualified as a Registered Psychologist.  

I am committed to providing compassionate and personalised/individualised care/plans and strive to empower clients on their
journey to optimal well-being.
